The Firm has a specialized tax group comprising of senior professionals, many with legal and accounting qualifications, with significant experience in industry as well as prior experience in the tax department.
The specialized group has the relevant experience to render advisory services, including corporate tax planning, tax advisory as well as transactional tax services across several industry segments. The expertise extends to all tax laws, direct and indirect, specifically income-tax, wealth tax, general sales tax, customs duty, excise duty and transactional taxes such as stamp duty.
The Firm regularly advises its clients on a variety of direct tax issues including tax efficient structures for inbound investment and repatriation, developing the appropriate operating models for the Indian entity particularly where there is a business interface with overseas entities with potential permanent establishment issues, setting up of fund structures for investment into India. In addition, the Firm also undertakes tax structuring in merger and acquisitions both domestic and cross border, and other corporate structuring and reorganization, tax planning for expatriates and assists in tax litigation before tax tribunals, settlement commissions, appropriate authority under tax treaties and authority for advance rulings including working with specialized Counsel.
