The Firm has been increasingly active in the derivatives space, a developing area in India, both in terms of regulations as well as transactions. The Firm’s transactional and advisory capabilities extend to cover exchange traded as well as OTC equity derivatives (including securities lending and borrowing), FX products, credit derivatives and commodity derivatives.
The Firm has acted as Indian counsel in various cross-border derivative financing / investment transaction structures. The Firm has extensive experience in advising foreign institutional clients in regulatory issues relating to offshore derivative instruments indexed to underlying Indian securities.
The Firm has advised certain corporate clients on regulatory and dispute resolution in matters arising out of derivative contracts with banks in India.
